Ashly
Mhlanga

Ashly Mhlanga holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and has developed a strong foundation in cybersecurity through both practical experience and continuous learning. Currently, Ashly Mhlanga serves as an Information Security Consultant at The Cimplicity Institute, where she specializes in security reviews, policy development aligned with ISO 27001 and ISO 22301, and the implementation of security controls to ensure compliance and protect organizational assets. Prior to joining The Cimplicity Institute, Ashly Mhlanga worked at Mimosa Mining Company as an Information Security Analyst, where she carried out similar activities. Her technical expertise and hands-on approach have been instrumental in maintaining secure IT environments. Ashly Mhlanga is dedicated, goal-driven, and passionate about cybersecurity, constantly seeking opportunities for growth and improvement. She has been an active participant in the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program, where she continues to enhance her skills in cybersecurity.

Boitumelo (Tumi) Tau

Tumi is a Senior IT Audit Consultant with 16 years of experience in conducting Information Systems Audits across various industries. Throughout her career, she has managed numerous audit assignments, both external and internal, and has worked in a wide range of sectors, including retail, mining, manufacturing, security, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, banking, and insurance. Tumi is dedicated to both personal and professional growth and she thrives on challenges and opportunities for advancement. She enjoys collaborating with others, learning new things, and sharing her knowledge and experiences. Tumi holds certificates in Draughting Engineering and Construction, Money Laundering Investigation and Detection, and ITIL Foundation. She is currently completing her BCom in Informatics at the University of South Africa. Tumi is excited to have been selected as one of the student interns for the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program and looks forward to becoming an expert in the fields of Cybersecurity and Systems Analysis.

Innocent Sekanka

Innocent Sekanka holds a BSc Honours in Mathematics from Sefako Makgatho University where she also completed BSc in Mathematical Sciences majoring in Mathematics and Computer Sciences and a short course in Research Methodologies. She is currently completing a Graduate in Training program with SARAO (South African Radio Astronomy Observatory) as a Junior Systems Analyst. Before joining SARAO, she completed a Youth Program with NRF-SAASTA at SAMF (South African Mathematics Foundation), serving as a Junior Projects Administrator for a year. Innocent has also attained certificates in IoT, Cybersecurity and Entrepreneurship studies with CISCO Networking Academy. She identifies her key strengths as being dedicated, goal-driven and humble. She is an active researcher in Science and Technology, passionate about learning and always on a mission to upgrade her career. Innocent is excited about the SANCS24/CSI Talent Accelerator program and is looking forward to becoming an expert in Cybersecurity and Systems Analysis field.

Jayden Nomdoe

Jayden VFT N. is a dedicated student at the Cyber Security Institute (CSI), pursuing a deep passion for cybersecurity and its intersection with emerging technologies. With a keen interest in LoRa (Long Range) and IoT (Internet of Things) devices, Jayden is fascinated by how these technologies can enhance connectivity and security in various applications. In addition to hardware innovations, Jayden is particularly drawn to Web3 and Blockchain technology, recognizing their potential to revolutionize data security and privacy. This enthusiasm drives him to explore innovative solutions that leverage decentralized systems to protect user information and foster trust in digital transactions. Through his studies and certifications, Jayden aims to contribute to the cybersecurity field by developing strategies that address vulnerabilities associated with IoT devices and blockchain systems. Joslyn Links is a dynamic and forward-thinking business professional with over five years of experience in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and operational leadership. She co-founded Inspiring African Women NPC, an initiative focused on empowering African women in STEAM fields. Through her leadership, the organization has built strategic partnerships and spearheaded impactful programmes. Joslyn has also led multiple startups, providing operational support, business growth strategies, and market engagement. Currently transitioning into cybersecurity, she is pursuing a certificate through the SANCS South Africa-Netherlands Cyber Security School. Her passion for cybersecurity lies in enhancing digital literacy and protecting critical assets. With a strong foundation in business development and an emerging focus on cyber risk and compliance, Joslyn is committed to making a difference in both the tech and cybersecurity landscapes.

Katleho
Moloi

Katleho Moloi is a current student intern on the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program and serves as a volunteer Cybersecurity Specialist at an emerging software company. He holds the Junior Ethical Hacker badge accredited by the EC-Council and is passionate about penetration testing. Katleho has familiarized himself with a range of IT-related online courses, continuously building his knowledge base in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure. His enthusiasm for ethical hacking and dedication to expanding his technical skill set have positioned him as a valuable asset in his internship and volunteer work. Katleho is eager to deepen his expertise in cybersecurity and contribute to innovative solutions in the tech industry.

Katleho Tshehle

Katleho Tshehle holds a diploma in Information Technology Systems Development from Boston City Campus and Business College where she completed her A+ CompTIA certification. She has worked as an IT & Business intern and free lanced for businesses as a Business Content Developer, gaining over 2 years of experience in business and technology. Currently diving into the world of cybersecurity as a SANCS Talent Accelerator Program student, after completing her SANCS cyber security certification. Passionate about technology and learning, she always seeks to better herself and her career, by helping and empowering others through technology. Spreading technological knowledge and positivity one byte at a time.

Koketso Maluleke

Koketso Maluleke is a dedicated individual with a background in counseling. She holds a Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Counseling at NQF Levels 3 and 4 from SANCA. Currently, Koketso is a student intern in the SANCS Cybersecurity Accelerator Program, class of 2024, at the Cybersecurity Institute (CSI). Additionally, she is undergoing Virtual Assistant training through ALX. Passionate about cybersecurity, Koketso received a certificate of attendance for a three-day practical masterclass on the introduction to cybersecurity, which covered topics such as Kali Linux, Scanning and Enumeration, and the Basics of Ethical Hacking. She is recognized for her resourcefulness and determination. In her spare time, Koketso enjoys hiking and engaging in various art activities. She thrives on challenges, whether it involves completing cybersecurity job simulations or tackling other tasks. As a student in the cybersecurity field, Koketso excels and finds joy in connecting with like-minded individuals who share her passion for learning.

Lindokuhle Mahlaba

Lindokuhle Mahlaba holds a BA joint Honours in Development and International Relations from the University of Witwatersrand where she also obtained a Social Science degree, majoring in Industrial Sociology and International Relations. She also holds a Certificate in Digital Marketing from the Red & Yellow School of Business. Lindokuhle is currently a Campaign Manager for an agency in the UK. She has worked a Junior Board of Director and participated in several projects such as South Africa Youth APRM Popular Sanitisation Project through SAIIA (SA Institute of International Affairs) where she was a Youth Policy Committee member. After the SANCS programme, Lindokuhle’s interest in the field grew and she hopes CSI will aid her to transition into the field one day. She hopes that her skills and strengths which she has acquired through academia and professionalism in her career will allow her to grow into an expert in the field.

Liza
Rikhotso

Liza Rikhotso is an aspiring IT professional with a strong background in technical support and customer service. She holds a National Diploma in Information Technology and is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in IT, specializing in networking and security, at Tshwane University of Technology. Liza’s experience spans various technical roles, including her position as a Techzone Consultant at Vodacom, where she provided expert support for mobile devices, email setups, and software troubleshooting. Currently working at Signalpet, Liza continues to deliver high-quality IT support while collaborating with development teams to resolve complex technical issues. She is also passionate about cybersecurity, having completed multiple certifications from platforms like Cisco and IBM SkillsBuild. A standout achievement was her participation in the SANCS24 Cybersecurity School, where her team won a cybersecurity challenge. She was also among the top 20 in the SANCS24 Talent Accelerator Program. With her technical expertise and commitment to continuous learning, Liza aims to make a significant impact in the IT and cybersecurity sectors.

Lwazi
Radebe

Lwazi Radebe is an experienced IT professional with over a decade of industry experience. With a solid foundation in Development and Information Systems, Lwazi has cultivated a keen interest in Cybersecurity and is passionate about staying up-to-date with new and current technologies and Artificial Intelligence. Recently, Lwazi was honored to be selected for the South Africa Netherlands CyberSecurity 2024 (SANCS24) Talent Accelerator Program through the Cyber Security Institute. This opportunity allows him to further expand his knowledge and expertise in the field of Cybersecurity. Beyond his professional pursuits, Lwazi is a dedicated fitness enthusiast who enjoys working out to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Mulalo Tharaga is a driven and innovative data science professional with a strong educational foundation in mathematics ,computer science and physics from university of Limpopo. Holding a bachelor of science degree, Mulalo’s expertise lies at the intersection of data analysis and technology solutions. Currently , Mulalo serves as a data science intern at HexSoftware , Mulalo also attained certificated in introduction to cybersecurity with cisco ,certificates in cybersecurity with South-Africa-Netherlands school , certificates in introduction to data science with cisco, Mulalo is also pursuing internship in cybersecurity through SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program and is looking forward to becoming an expert in cybersecurity and penetration testing. Nhlamulo Mathevula

In their final year of law studies, Nhlamulo Mathevula is navigating the complex world of contracts, regulations, and legal precedents with a keen interest in commercial and cyber law. Their academic journey, driven by curiosity about legal frameworks and digital commerce, has shaped their perspective on the challenges businesses face in the digital age. Beyond academics, he actively participates in a non-profit organization assisting students' transition to university. They have also participated in the inaugural South Africa-Netherlands Cyber Security program 2024 and are currently enrolled in the SANCS Talent Accelerator Program, furthering their cybersecurity knowledge. Refilwe
Mantu

Refilwe Mantu is a multifaceted IT professional with a strong background in Information Technology and Business Analysis. With extensive experience in Telecommunications and Project Management, Refilwe has consistently delivered exceptional customer service, yielding high client satisfaction rates. Currently, she is expanding her expertise in Cyber Security through the SANSC24 Talent Accelerator Program and Cyber Security Institute. Dedicated and results-driven, Refilwe excels in dynamic environments, blending technical prowess with business acumen. Her commitment to learning and adaptability positions her for success in the evolving tech landscape. As she continues to grow in the cyber security field, Refilwe is poised to make a meaningful impact in the digital world.

Rolivhuwa Ramanugu

Rolivhuwa Ramanugu is a motivated final-year BSc Informatics student at UNISA with a strong focus on cybersecurity and network defence. He holds several industry certifications, including the EC-Council Ethical Hacking and Digital Forensics Essentials certifications, as well as a Microsoft AZURE Cloud certification. Currently, Rolivhuwa is gaining practical experience as a SANCS24 trainee at the Cyber Security Institute, where he is further developing his skills in cybersecurity practices. Known for his problem-solving abilities and collaborative spirit, he aims to make a significant impact in the cybersecurity field.

Tebogo
Nong

Tebogo Nong holds a MFA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA Cape Town where she also completed an Honours in Motion Picture Medium Majoring in Directing and film writing and a short course in Cybersecurity through CSI and a Cybersecurity course with Cybergirls where she specialized in Cloud Security. Tebogo is currently completing SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program. Tebogo has also attained certificates in Cloud Security. She identifies her key strengths as being driven, having a growth mindset and being innovative. She is an active researcher in New Technology advancements, passionate about learning and always on a mission to leverage new information to advance herself and her career. Tebogo was grateful at being selected as one of the student interns on the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program and is looking forward to becoming an expert in Cybersecurity and Project management field.

Tatenda Mataba

Tatenda Mataba graduated with an Honours in International Relations from the University of Pretoria where she completed a Bachelor of Political Science and International Studies. She is currently completing a Masters in Security Studies at the University of Pretoria, where her coursework focused on the role of cybersecurity in security and strategic studies and her research focusing on the role of the green energy transition in operations. Tatenda was awarded a Golden Key International Honour Society membership for ranking in the Top 15% in the Humanities Faculty of the University of Pretoria. Tatenda has completed job simulations through the Forage platform for; Accenture Project Management, BCG Introduction to Strategy Consulting, AIG Shields Up, Mastercard Cybersecurity and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Cybersecurity. Tatenda is also completing certificates through the Microsoft Learn platform focused on Networking and Security as well as developing skills on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Services. Her strengths lie in both her interpersonal skills and her research skills. Tatenda is an active reader and researcher and is always looking for ways to add flare to her skill set. As one of the students selected for the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator program, Tatenda looks forward to linking her fields in both cybersecurity studies and her base studies in International Relations.

Lawrence Edward Katunga

Lawrence Katunga holds an Erasmus Mundus MA in European Interdisciplinary African Studies from the University of Bayreuth (Germany), a Master’s in Governance and Regional Integration from Pan African University (Cameroon), and a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) from the University of Malawi. His work experience in international trade, operations, and project management coupled with academic research interests in politics and international relations ignited his curiosity in the governance of emerging technologies. Lawrence has undertaken training in Cyber Law and Cyber Policy by the University of Tartu, Digital Skills Programme by UNITAR, and Cybersecurity by IBM. His key strengths as a goal and impact-driven leader include adaptability and problem-solving. He is passionate about researching technological advancements, and their impacts various sectors of society. Lawrence is delighted being selected for the SANCS24 CSI Talent Accelerator Program and looks forward to developing expertise in Cyber Diplomacy, Governance and Risk Management.

Sellwane Matsheka

Sellwane Matsheka is currently a 3rd Computer Systems Engineering student at Tshwane University of Technology. As a student intern at cyber security institute, Sellwane Matsheka is gaining hands-on experience on python as she aspires to be an ethical hacker, she also believes that she is a lifelong learner always open to learning to new technologies. what stood out for her as a student intern at cyber cyber security institute is being able to find balance between her modules at school and a new content as student intern. Driven by a commitment to ethical hacking, they have completed certifications as a Cybersecurity Analyst and Ethical Hacker through Coursera. Sellwane Matsheka aims to leverage these skills in protecting organizations against cyber threats while contributing to the field of information security through research and professional growth.

Emanuel Dikotla

Emanuel is an IT professional with a strong foundation in database administration and a recently developed passion for cybersecurity. With over three years of experience as a Database Administrator and an additional six months in data management, he have honed skills in data organization, protection, and analysis. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Limpopo, his research focuses on machine learning applications within cybersecurity. As a participant in the SANCS24 Talent Acquisitions program, Emanuel is expanding his technical skills in cybersecurity, motivated by the industry’s critical need for innovative defense solutions. His analytical background and commitment to continuous learning, positions him well to address emerging cybersecurity challenges. IT and Cyber Security Program

Course Details

Our courses combine essentials from both industry and academia to provide valid, unique, practical content that is innovatively presented via facilitated e-learning.

The IT and Cyber Security Program is a practical course consisting of coursework, virtual classes, and practical cyber range exercises.

Mode of Offering: Learning will be conducted through a facilitated online format, utilising an e-learning platform to provide an interactive and engaging educational experience. Additionally, hands-on practical sessions and virtual labs will be conducted every Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering participants the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world context.
